Supported Employment means paid employment which is for persons with intellectual/developmental disabilities for whom competitive employment at or above minimum wage is unlikely and who, because of their disabilities, need intensive ongoing support to perform in a work setting. This employment is conducted in a setting in which persons without disabilities are employed and is supported by any activity needed to sustain paid work by the persons with intellectual/ developmental disabilities. Activities include job development, job placement, supervision, training, and transportation. Abilities Discovered, Inc. promotes individual jobs for each person earning minimum wage or more. Employment support remains in place over time.
